He received his bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, completed premedical studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and attended four years of medical school at Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. He then completed a three-year internship and residency in internal medicine at Henry Ford Riverside Osteopathic Hospital.
